Flower fair & colorful silleteros parade

Flower fair: the best time of the year to visit Medellín

If you want to visit the second largest city of Colombia, Medellin, during the most popular time of the year, then this package tour is for you! At the beginning of August in Medellin, also known as “the city of eternal Spring“, one of the biggest celebrations of the year takes place. This festivity is known as the flower fair or flower festival, and its main event is the silleteros parade, a popular parade where around 500 farmers from Santa Elena show off their colorful silletas (flower sculptures) in the streets. Other popular events of the flower fair include the Trova festival, classic cars parade, orchids fair and much more. During this time of the year the city is transformed into a space that vibrates joy, music and fun.

The flower fair is characterized as one of the most cultural celebrations of the “paisa” identity in Colombia and the event that brings together all the Antioqueños, as well as thousands of national and international visitors. You’ll not only have the chance to attend the popular flower fair with this package tour, but you can also do a Medellin City Tour. Get to know the city by visiting Pueblito Paisa, Parque Botero, Parque de los Pies Descalzos and more. If you want to take a break from the big city, there is a very popular attraction just two hours outside of Medellin. You can visit Guatape and the Penol Rock during the Flower Fair 5 Days. It is important to highlight that the Penol Rock & Guatape Tour is optional: if you don’t want to do that tour, you can take that day for yourself and attend some of the many events at the flower fair. We really recommend this package from the 9th to the 13th of August. Don’t miss out on this package tour where you explore the city of Medellin while attending its most popular celebration, the flower fair.
